When someone is completely clueless or out of the loop. '404 coded' borrows from the HTTP 404 'Not Found' error to describe a person whose understanding just can't be located.

WHAT IS 404 CODED?

"404 coded" means someone is totally clueless, out of the loop, or missing the point entirely. It comes from the HTTP 404 error — the "page not found" message you get when a webpage doesn't exist. Gen Z took that concept and ran with it: if your brain can't locate the information, you're 404 coded. It's the tech-native way of saying someone's lights are on but nobody's home.

HOW TO USE IT

Someone being clueless: "She didn't know what a PDF was... fully 404 coded" — when a person is missing basic knowledge that everyone else seems to have. Comprehension not found.
Zoning out or not getting it: "I tried explaining the assignment three times and he's still 404 coded" — when someone cannot grasp what's happening no matter how hard you try to help them.
Self-deprecating humor: "Me in math class? Permanently 404 coded" — used on yourself when you know you're lost and you've accepted it. The understanding never loaded and it never will.
