Being fully focused and committed — zero distractions, maximum grind. When you're locked in, nothing is pulling you off course.
WHAT IS LOCKED IN?
Locked in means you're fully dialed into whatever you're doing — completely focused, no distractions, tunnel vision activated. It started in basketball commentary ("he's locked in tonight") and exploded across TikTok and Twitter into the ultimate productivity/commitment flex. You can be locked in on a project, a gym session, your goals, or even a relationship. It's grindset's cooler, more versatile cousin.
HOW TO USE IT
●Focus mode: When someone (or you) is going hard on a task with zero distractions. "Can't text rn, I'm locked in on this essay." It's the modern "do not disturb."
●Commitment flex: To signal you're fully committed to something — a goal, a person, a lifestyle change. "She's been locked in at the gym since January and the results are showing."
●Hype / encouragement: Tell someone to "lock in" as motivation before something big. The TikTok "lock in" video format shows creators dramatically switching from chill mode to intense focus. It's basically the Gen Z version of "game time."
●Ironic / meme usage: Used sarcastically when the task is hilariously low-stakes. "Locked in on this Wordle rn, nobody talk to me." The contrast between extreme focus language and mundane activity is the joke.
EXAMPLES
●"Finals start Monday. Time to lock in. No phone, no Netflix, just caffeine and suffering."
●"Bro has been locked in on his startup for six months straight — respect the grindset honestly."
●"Me saying I'm locked in and then checking my phone every 3 minutes."
●"She told him to lock in or lose her. He chose the PlayStation. Iconic."
